REFLECT. REVIEW. RESPOND. DEVELOP.

Turn experience into learning — and player voice into better coaching.

PASS is a structured self-reflection tool for sport. Players can use a Quick Check-In after training or matches, then go deeper after tournaments, competitions or a league period. Their responses are stored for authorised staff to review, helping coaches turn player voice into better questions, clearer feedback and useful next actions.

Players use a secure team link. No player account or payment is required to reflect.

A simple learning loop

1

Reflect

The player considers performance, mindset, development and support.

2

Review

The reflection is stored where authorised staff can see it.

3

Respond

The coach follows up from the player's words, not assumptions.

4

Develop

A clear focus or action carries into what happens next.

WHY SELF-REFLECTION MATTERS

Training creates experience. Reflection helps turn it into learning.

Good athletes do more than complete sessions. They learn to notice what happened, evaluate their own response and decide what to do next. That process builds self-awareness and gives the athlete more ownership of their development.

Notice

Step out of the moment and recognise what actually happened — not just whether it felt good or bad.

Evaluate

Compare performance, decisions and behaviour with goals, standards and what the athlete was trying to achieve.

Plan

Turn the experience into one clear focus, support need or action for the next session.

Reflection works best when it leads somewhere.

A reflection that is stored, reviewed and followed by useful feedback is more valuable than a thought that disappears after the session. PASS is built to make that loop easy enough to repeat.

MORE THAN “HOW DID IT GO?”

PASS asks the questions that help a player think properly.

The framework moves the player through four different lenses so the reflection covers performance, behaviour, development and the support needed to move forward.

P
Play

Performance awareness

  • What went well?
  • How did your performance match your goals or team standards?
  • What moments stood out — positive or negative?
A
Attitude

Mindset and accountability

  • How did you show up mentally and emotionally?
  • How did you support your teammates?
  • How did you handle challenges, feedback or setbacks?
S
Skills

Development and problem-solving

  • What specific areas need work?
  • What new skills or tactics have you developed?
  • What is one clear focus for next time?
S
Support

Help-seeking and next steps

  • What do you need from your coach or team to succeed?
  • What is your key focus before the next session or review?

PASS also includes an optional mood check and a final commitment, helping turn reflection into a specific focus for next time.

PICK THINGS UP EARLIER

Players often know something before they say it out loud.

Structured reflection gives every player a regular opportunity to tell you how they saw the session, how they responded and what they need. That can give a coach a useful signal before a small issue becomes a repeated one.

The aim is not to diagnose. It is to notice, ask better questions and act when needed.

PASS can help surface:

  • A player seeing their performance differently from the coach
  • Confidence, frustration or difficulty handling setbacks
  • A technical or tactical area the player knows needs attention
  • A player asking for clearer feedback, support or a conversation
  • A repeated issue that might otherwise disappear between sessions

REFLECTION SHOULD NOT DISAPPEAR

Keep the player voice. Review it. Follow it up. Build a better picture over time.

PASS keeps submitted reflections together in a team-scoped staff dashboard. Coaches can search, filter, add private notes and mark follow-up so an important comment does not get lost between one session and the next.

Store

Keep each reflection as a factual record instead of losing it in chat, paper or memory.

Review

Look back at what the player said, including repeated themes and previous commitments.

Act

Use the reflection to shape feedback, a 1-to-1 conversation or a clear next coaching action.

Players submit through a secure team link. Staff access is authenticated and team-scoped. PASS is not an emergency, medical or safeguarding-reporting channel.

The reflection habit is free. Plus helps the coach work with what comes back.
